Employee dormitories are essential spaces for rest and daily living, and fire safety directly impacts the life and property security of every employee. In order to thoroughly implement the safety production responsibility system, actively promote special rectification efforts for fire safety, and eliminate fire hazards in employee dormitories while enhancing emergency response capabilities, the Safety Department at the Huaxi Base recently took comprehensive action. They organized and coordinated the installation of fire doors in dormitories, reinforcing the “firewall” of safety for employees’ living spaces.

In the preliminary phase, the Safety Department conducted a thorough inspection of the current fire safety conditions in the dormitories. It was discovered that some dormitory doors and windows lacked fire and smoke containment capabilities. In the event of a fire, flames and smoke could spread quickly, posing a serious threat to the safe evacuation of employees. Based on the findings, the Safety Department swiftly developed a detailed plan for the installation of fire doors, clearly defining construction standards, timelines, responsibilities, and safety control requirements to ensure the installation process would be carried out in a standardized, efficient, and orderly manner.

To ensure the quality of fire door installations, the Safety Department strictly selected construction units with professional qualifications and fire doors that meet national fire safety standards. The chosen fire doors have passed certification from authoritative testing agencies and possess excellent fire-resistance, heat insulation, and smoke-blocking capabilities. These fire doors are designed to effectively prevent the spread of fire and toxic smoke during an emergency, buying precious time for employee evacuation. Before construction began, the Safety Department organized a safety and technical briefing for all construction personnel, emphasizing the construction process, quality standards, and on-site safety precautions, to prevent any violations during the installation.

Throughout the construction process, the Safety Department assigned dedicated personnel to track and supervise the work, conducting daily inspections to verify construction progress, quality, and on-site safety. Special attention was given to critical factors such as the installation accuracy, sealing performance, and hardware compatibility of the fire doors. Any issues identified were immediately addressed, and the construction team was required to make prompt corrections to ensure every fire door met safety usage standards. The construction schedule was also carefully planned to avoid peak rest times, minimizing noise and dust disruptions to employees’ daily lives, which garnered widespread understanding and support from the workforce.

As of now, the installation of fire doors in the dormitory buildings of the Huaxi Special Steel residential area has been completed and is in use. Moving forward, the Safety Department will continue to enhance routine fire safety inspections and management in employee dormitories. Regular fire hazard checks, corrective measures, and safety education will be carried out to strengthen the fire safety network, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and secure living environment for employees. This will lay a solid foundation for the stable operation of Huaxi Special Steel’s safety production.
